We're growing peas outside too, but I thought it would be a fun little project for my 5 year old to grow peas in the window. Once the seedlings emerge and we take off the plastic, I'll make something for the peas to climb.
I have to say that this was inspired by praxxus55712, who is growing tomatoes and garlic in his window in snowy Montana. :)

Week 6 update.
The mixture that I used in the pots outside so far have been:
1 Part Compost
1 Part Peet Moss
1 Part Perlite
1 Part Potting Soil
I may change it up a bit in the future to 40% peet moss, 40% compost and 20% perlite.

We just moved into this house...so it looks pretty crappy at this point. I want to put in 2 or 3 more veggie beds and more edible landscaping in backyard as well as the front. Should be getting a couple fruit trees soon.

All is good except there is some mold growing on the plugs of the plants. Just hoping I can get some tomatoes before/if it kills thems.

Just something you have to go through living in tornado alley. My kids and I take shelter when tornado warning predicts one is heading our way. Very scary to go through with little kids.
April 25, 2008. The storm system produced 2 or 3 tornadoes...one not too far from us.

My mom gave this to me and I'm going to see if it's any good. I planted an Early Girl plant in 100% organic compost and nothing else...all I had at the time.
