For example if you were measuring temperature and you wanted to show the moment the temperature dropped below zero - then you would change the 'conditional formatting' so that it showed the - minus figures with a blue surround. This button when pressed was made to remove all toolbars, scroll-bars, and anything that will make the screen look 'crowded. A second button was added which 'replaced' all these items.
